loud clunking when changing cycles,is it the transmission?? is this machine direct drive??is it gear case..trans neutral drain?? or bottom pinion gear case??any suggestions?? & or other parts to put in it while apart?thanks mike

also getting a rim of grease (bearing?)around tub when load is finisher..is there a braring going?? part of gearbox?

You have a bad tranny, AP3096209, relatively easy to replace.
