We had a power surge at about 10 am yesterday morning. When we came home tonight the freezer was dethawing onto the kitchen floor. We unloaded freezer immediately. The lights work, fan works, sounds like it is running - but it is not cold inside nor is the side of the freezer warm to the touch like it normally is! My guess is this is the compressor??? If so is that something worth fixing or are we in for a new refrigerator / freezer tomorrow? Any thoughts would be appreciated!
