I have a Whirlpool that will not unlock the controls. It says on the washer to press and hold for 3 seconds but the controls are still locked. I took the top off the unit and you can hear a clicking coming from the timer (AP4560749) if you plug and unplug the washer. None of the controls work, Power just makes the light underneith flash 5 times. Nothing from any other button. Any advise would be helpful.

If the washer is less than 1 year old, don't do anything and call Whirlpool for the warranty service.

Gene. - called them, it's 2 days past the warranty.

Control lock on...tried un plugging... didn't work
