I do not work on gas appliances, but if you look at the posts on gas dryers on this Forum you will see that most of the problems like yours are the result of bad coils. I would review those posts, and if you believe you have a similar problem I would replace the coils and see if that does not fix the problem, since it is an easy and inexpensive repair. Good luck
