My HOTPOINT refrigerator was not defrosting last week,when i put the refrigrerator into defrosting cycle manualy by using jumper wire the heater start working and defrosting ice, i changed the mother board after but the refrigerater still not defrosting. any idea what's going on?

Gene. i put the jumper wire in between the two wires j11(line) and j9(defr.).

Remove these wires from the control board and measure the resistance between them. Post the result.

Gene. i have aresistance reading 0.75 ohm between the two wires (defr.) and (line).

This reading shows there is a short somewhere in the defrost circuit. Normal resistance should be about 22 Ohms. Do not use the refrigerator until it's fixed or it'll damage the new control board. You have to remove the rear panel in the freezer and check the defrost heater and the defrost thermostat for continuity.
