Kenmore Elite model 106 54602300 just stopped getting cold. Lost all the meat in the frezzer and the fridge side is only cool. Panel shows the unit to be working and cpmpressor appears to working. Could starter relay be bad or what? Happened all of a sudden.

How hot is the compressor on touch?
Did you clean the condenser coils?
Do the both fans (next to the compressor and inside the freezer) work?
Remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check how the evaporator coils are covered with frost.
Gene.

Panel is off and fan is running but there is no frost on coils. I checked the lower grill, on the bottom, it had some lint but not too much. Compressor appears to not be working, could it be a start up relay?

No, is that on the back side of the fridge? Somewhat mechanically inclined but this is my first problem with a refrigerator.

Yes, it is on the back. How did you determine that the compressor is not working without seeing it?
Gene.

Probably shouldn't assume, for obvious reasons, but thought it would be the compressor or maybe the start relay. It was working well and just quit all of a sudden. Is this something I can tackle myself or should I bring in an expert?
