I heard some rumbling when my dryer started up. It only lasts a minute or so. When I removed the back panel to investigate, I found the blower wheel to have some play. When I manually spin the drum, the blower wheel seems to "skip" at times. It has to catch up with the turning of the drum. Why is this happenning? Should I replace the blower wheel? Has something (age) caused the wheel to have more play than usual?
Any info would be very helpful. Thank you.
Mike

Hi Mike, Sounds like you found what is causing the noise. It's common for this type of blower wheel to wear out in the center and cause the noise you described. I would go ahead and replace the blower wheel. This is the blower wheel for your model dryer. WHIRLPOOL Blower Wheel, part number: AP4038939
