The stove works fine if I am only using one burner. If I try to use two burners simultaneously, the second one will not light unless I hold a match to it (the pilot IS on) and the flame of the first burner is drastically reduced when I try to use a second burner. Also, if I am using a top burner, the oven will not work. There are a series of small "explosions" as it tries to ignite.
I think the problem is the gas regulator. It was made by the now-defunct Harper Wyman Company. I have been unable to get a part number from Whirlpool (the stove is about 40 years old), but I am hoping someone will know where I can get the gas regulator for the 31DA-7 stove, or will now of a substitute part that will work. It is not an electric regulator.
Thank you.

Thanks for that, Dan. I will give it a shot and see how it goes. Just out of curiosity, would any non-electric gas stove regulator work, as long as it was appropriate for use with natural gas?

Quote:would any non-electric gas stove regulator work JFYI. I've never heard of an electric gas regulator. Quote:would any gas stove regulator work, as long as it was appropriate for use with natural gas? .. and had the same size tubing connections and fit the particular installation. Probably.
