The motor functions, but the metallic squeal is driving me nuts. I've lubed the dryer - even lubed it tilting it forward and backward; still no luck with the squeal. Any ideas?

The noise is not likely coming from your motor, but from the idler pulley wheel or the drum bearings/support area.

With the front and top off (and the machine disconnected!) see if you can determine the source of the squeal by manually turning the drum.

Good luck, let us know what you find out.
