any tricks to popping panel clips with putty knife?

Is there a trick to disengaging the rentention clips that hold the front lower panel in place on a dryer? I'm using a putty knife but nothing happens.

On most Whirlpool dryers you have to pull the filter out top of the dryer and remove the screws under it for the top to lift up. [FONT='Times New Roman']Once the top is up the front is held on by screws. Hope this helps! Clothes Dryer Repair Guide[/FONT]

It's the screws not clips that hold the panel on - the mfg. info was incorrect. thanks for straighting this out!
