I'm testing the defrost timer, defrost thermostat, and defrost heater because my freezer side keeps icing over the evaporator coils. To make the defrost thermostat sufficiently cold, I'm surrounding it with a ziploc bag of ice water. The ohmmeter isn't budging when I measure it either in the bag or out. Does this mean I have a bad thermostat?

KENMORE \| Model #10653662300 \| REFRIGERATOR \| CONTROL PARTS \| SearsPartsDirect.com It may not get cold enough with just ice. You can bypass the defrost thermostat and see if the system works.
