I am getting a faint gas smell from my oven when it is off. The manual says I may need to adjust the oven burner air shuttle. Would this really be causing the smell when the oven is off?

No it wouldn't, only while in use.

You may have a gas leak somewhere. You should have a licensed gas appliance service technician look into it ASAP!
