I would not put anything on the contacts.
These are meant for places where there is a high pressure contact between the male and female conductors like a screwed on connection. |

thanks for your help & patience; will not put goo on plugs; if things can not get posted here, likely my antivirus stuff; but--learning a ton as I go along--thanks :) this has been really helpful !

looks like the touch pad panel replacement worked; must have been only the touch pad buttons; ran a few cycles to date & o.k.; not too hard to replace either; i figured out how to unsnap the door lock and circuit board components; Thanks to Denman!:)
