Hello,
I have a whirlpool quiet plus and it doesn't drain out completely. I have replaced the drain hose and that didn't solve the problem. I'm thinking that I need to replace the check valve but tech repair can't tell what the check valve does. Is it a back flow preventer?
Thanks
kitkat

Most likely the problem is a clogged or broken check valve (#15 on the pump & motor break down diagram). Yes, the check valve is a safety devise to prevent a back up. - Here are the break down diagrams for the Whirlpool dishwasher Model DU8700XY1Gene.
