I am looking for a repair part fot my older refrigerator. Does anyone know if there is a part cross reference to another mfg. part, or where I might still find one?
Part description:
Freezer defrost element (element within a glass tube). Unit is freezing up.

Here is a link

Are you sure that the defrost element is blown.
Best to check it with a meter.
It could also be the defrost timer or the defrost element.
Though the glass type heaters do go fairly often and often yo can see where they have burned out.

I will also send your post to AppliancePartsPro's, the people who sponsor this site

If you sure the problem is a bad defrost heater then post a pictures of it and measure the size. Is it a single or a double heater? Also look for a part number on the heater.

Dear rmichelotti,

Due to the age we will need to have our research department look it up on microfich.

However we will need the manufacturer number/BM number. It will be located on the same tag as the model and serial consisting in 5 number and letter combinations.

Thanks
