frost free freezer ice build up again

We have ice build up in our frost free bottom freezer for the second time this month. We took the back panel off, tested the heater (which was good) and then replaced the defrost thermostat. within a week, the frost is building up again and the food in the freezer is melting. i don't believe we have a defrost timer in this model.
Any ideas? Thank you

You don't have a timer but you have a defrost control which is
Part 51 on this parts list of diagram 3. Replacement parts for AMANA BRF20TE | AppliancePartsPros.com

It should be your problem since the thermostat and heater are good.
