To make sure the problem is not the lid switch I would recommend to bypass the switch and run the washer.

My machine stopped spinning or agitating. It takes in water and drains fine and goes through the cycle. However there is no washing or spinning happening. It is worth fixing?

Gene,

I won't be able to get to my machine fo r acouple of days. Let's assume that its not the lid switch, what should I check next?

In order to provide the most accurate advise I need the complete model number of the washer.

Gene,

I see dannag has started a separate thread. Here is the info for my washer. Still looking to check the next thing. I will add that I don't hear any noises when the washer should be spinning or agitating. As I stated before if we assume the lid switch is working, it appears to me that another switch may have gone bad. Given the model info below, what switch should I test and where should I look. I agree it does not appear that the motor, transmission, or clutch are the problem, but I will defer to your greater experience.

Nick,

If there is nothing wrong with the lid switch, then check wires from the timer to the motor.

Check the motor windings for continuity. I do not have the wiring diagram for this washer, but it could be inside the control panel.

If the motor tests OK then the problem is a bad timer.

I aremoved the switch from the circuit, washer works. I guess it was the lid switch all along. I'll order one this weekend and install next week.
