Have just recently replaced the water inlet valve #AP2071736 (WR57X10024) and now icemaker won't fill. I used to hear when the valve received the signal to open and let water flow through, but don't hear that now. I've checked to see that the freezer inlet tube is not blocked with ice. The ice forming trays are dry. The fill detection arm moves freely, and in the down(empty indication) position. Water flows to water dispenser in door. Have checked electrical plug-in connection at valve and this seems OK. Is the replacement valve faulty? Or, is the icemaker not sending the signal to the valve now? Thanks for any suggestions you may have!

Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear

I did as you suggested and the ice maker filled with water, while the water dispenser in the door did not function, leading me to believe that the electrical connection was at fault. However, when I reconnected the wiring harnesses in their proper configuration, both the water dispenser and the icemaker worked! Go figure! :) Still working this morning, so maybe the problem is solved. Thanks again!
