I have a problem with a gas leak somewhere in the gas valve. I soaped up everything on the valve and any joints near it and find no bubbles. I got hold of an electronic "sniffer" and the thing sounds off when it is near the two coils on top and toward the front where the orfice would be. My question is, are those coils something that gets weak and doesn't completely shut the valve? Also are they replaceable? The gas valve assembly is around $110 so I'm hoping this one can be rebuilt or repaired. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Soap up the end of the orfice and watch for the bubble.

If the leak is there you will have to replace the gas valve, it can not be repaired.
