My Kenmore (Amana) 596.73509201 refrigerator/freezer is cold but not cold enough to freeze ice. I've confirmed the thermostat setting in the freezer is set to "COLDEST" and the evaporator coil inside the freezer is not frozen over.

Any ideas what could be wrong and/or what I should do next?

Check the compressor in the back, if hot and the condensing coils cool, replace the compressor start device AP4078361. If hot and the condenser coils very warm, you probably have a bad compressor.
