My ice dispenser quits dropping ice and then makes a growling noise. It does this either asking for crushed ice or cubes. I have had it apart clear down to the gear box and I can find nothing wrong with it. What am I overlooking? If there is some kind of clutch in it I can't see any. The flap works fine. The auger is fine. I even sharpened the points on the ice crushing fingers on the auger. Still no help. I checked the big gear in the gear box to see if it were slipping on the shaft, but I put as much force on it that I dared to without breaking it and I could not make it slip. Can someone out there tell me what I am overlooking?
