Hey guys

pulled oven out to replace failed bake element. Where elements connect in the back there is white insulation on both bake and broil elements

Bake element insulation is perfectly white.

Surface of broil element is black - appears to be burned.

Is this normal wear from the heat. Is it cause for concern ?

Thanks, in advance, for any help / direction you might be able to provide

Did you ever get a response to this? Mine has the exact same problem. Not sure if it's safe and GE is closed today.
