My drawer quit heating during cycles all of a sudden is this a heating element issue or a thermostat. There is not lint problem in hose or obstruction. I ran two cycles in a row and the 2nd it stopped heating.

Here are your parts Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL REX5634PQ0 | AppliancePartsPros.comHere is the wiring diagram http://www.servicematters.com/docs/wiring/wiring_main.htmFirst turn your breaker of/on slowly a couple times. Sometimes you can loose half the line without tripping the breaker. If you have a meter check the plug for 240 volts (L1 to L2) and 120 volts (L1 to Neutral) and (L2 to Neutral) Next is either the thermal fuse (item 6 in the Bulkhead parts section) or the heater. The easiest way to check is unplug the unit and measure them with a meter. If you do not have a meter 1. Remove the heater and inspect it visually. 2. Remove the wires from the thermal fuse, short them together, tape them up so they cannot short to the frame, plug the unit in and give it a try. If the fuse is gone replace it ASAP as it is a critical safety device. All the above are done with the unit unplugged. The dry has 240 volts which can be lethal, so be careful. |
