When any of the burners on the range top are ignited, there is a strong odor of propane. Same occurs when turning on the oven. When range top and oven are secured, there is no odor. It appears that there is a leak in a line common to both the range top and the oven. This line only gets pressurized when a signal is sent to release gas to either. Any clues on where to look? I thought it might be a defective regulator.

My best advise is to call the Gas company. They have very good equipments and their service is free of charge. After they will pinpoint the gas leak I might be able to help you with the right parts to fix it.
