Whirlpool Dishwasher Model No. GU2700XTSS1 dishes do not get clean. The gel detergent is in a clump at the bottom of the dishwasher. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? Thanks.

What is the water level inside the dishwasher during the wash cycle?

Does the wash pump work during the wash cycle?

Disassemble the top part of the pump from inside of the dishwasher and check the chopper (#6 on the diagram) as described in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros...hirlpool-dishwasher.html

Here are the breakdown diagrams and Replacement parts for WHIRLPOOL GU2700XTSS1 UNDERCOUNTER DISHWASHER | AppliancePartsPros.com

Gene.
P.S. In any case avoid any gel detergents in the future.

Thanks, Gene. How do I measure what the water level inside the dishwasher is during the wash cycle? How can I tell if the wash pump is working during the wash cycle? Also, what is wrong with using Gel detergents?

Just open the door during the wash cycle, check the water level and post the results.

Remove the bottom panel and check the pump motor.

I can not tell you exactly what is wrong with them because I'm not a chemist, but based on my experience such detergents are troublemakers, especially in hard water environment.
