Can you tell me how to remove the top front panel from our Kenmore dryer so that I can replace the starter switch? We've done all we know to do and it's still not budging!
Thank you!

Barbara,

What is the original problem with the dryer?

Gene.

We are replacing the starter switch. (Have the switch... just need to get to the old one).
Thanks!

Remove the screw from each side of the console. Pull the console forward and up to remove the tabs on the bottom of the end caps, out of the holes in the top. Lift the console up and lay it on its back.

Gene.
P.S. If the dryer stops as soon as you release the start button then the problem is a bad control board and not the start switch.

Just did it this morning with a Kenmore 70 series. Assuming the 70 Series is constructed similarly to your machine:

Pull out the lint trap from the top of the console and remove the 2 screws. Pop the top cover up at each front corner using a screwdriver between the top cover and the body and gently pry up each corner until free. The top should now tilt backwards. At each front corner, about 2 inches from the top is a screw. Remove the screw from each front corner. Lift up a front corner of the washer and put your shoe underneath being careful to NOT catch your toes. Give the side panel, by the front where you have lifted it up by your toe, a good pop down with the palm of your hand and that front corner should separate from the side panel. Repeat at other front corner.
