This is a GE refrigerator with top freezer. There is no cooling fan. When plugged in, there is no sound from the compressor. The light is on when you open the refrigerator door. The compressor relay was replaced with a new one and there is no change. No cooling in the frig. and no freezing in the freezer. What could be the problem? Temp. control? Please help?
Thanks

Locate the thermostat (#300 on the diagram) and bypass it. Replace the thermostat if the compressor would start. Remove the wires from the compressor and check for 120 VAC between those wires while the thermostat calls for cold. If there is proper voltage then the compressor itself is bad. - The part number for the thermostat is AP3140355Here are the break down diagrams and Replacement parts for GE TDX11SNYARWH | AppliancePartsPros.comGene.

Thanks Gene. I bypassed the thermostat switch and the compressor started. I ordered the new switch and I will install it when it arrives. Your post response was a great deal of help. Thanks again. I'll let you know how the new part works.

Thanks Gene. The new part arrived. I installed it, plugged the refrigerator in and it started right up. It's working like a new appliance. Cooling and freezing like it should.
Thanks again for your help.
