Water dispenser on door works. Found ice tray filled with water instead of cubes. Now when turned on, mechanics seem to work, but no water getting to icemaker.

Roberta,

You could replace the water inlet valve

Part number: AP3799250

Since that seems to be the most common issue for your complaint. If you want to, you can test the icemaker operation and voltage to the fill vave teerminals with a meter or by switching the wires at the inlet valve.

Disconnect the wires from the ice maker solenoid,on the inlet valve. Insert the multi meter probes into the end of the wires,( or switch them over to the other solenoid). remove the white plastic module cover on the front of the ice maker assembly. With a short piece of insulated 14 guage wire, with the insulation stripped from both ends(1/2 to 3/4 inch) insert the ends of the wire into the opening labeled "T" and the other end of the wire into the opening labelled "H"(these openings are lacated at the 4 and 5 o'clock positions, looking at the front of the control module), hold the wire there until the large gear starts to rotate, then remove the wire. When the rake arm reaches the 1 to 2 o'clock position, you should have a reading of 120 VAC,if you use a multimeter. if you switched the wires, the dwater dispenser will dispense water for 7 to10 seconds(have a glass in the water dispenser,so you don't spill) This will confirm that the icemaker is OK and you need to replace the fill valve, no voltage or water will confirm that the wiring or icemaker is at fault,

Good Luck,
:) :) :)

Here's some meter usage information, should you need it.
