Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 6/26/2011(UTC) Posts: 1		My maytag washer would fill and agitate but would not advance through the cycles unless we manually advanced the knob. I put a new timer in and it is doing the exact same thing....any ideas?

Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/29/2009(UTC) Posts: 11,699		If you manually advance the timer and then it spins and works ok you likely have a wiring or electrical problem. Check all the wires to and from the timer, and clean the contacts with a good contact cleaner. This type of problem is difficult to find, good luck.
