Beaumark whisper wash plus dishwasher - overheating

Toxic Smoke...took days to clear from the house. No Flames..plenty of hot spots around the lower left side cabinets.
Cleaned the inside rear filter, but I don't think that is the reason. I suspect it's a motor problem, but not sure.
Should this dishwasher be thrown away. It runs and does not leak.
I feel very unsafe with electrical power to this unit....I'm having to wash dishes , the old fashioned way...and I thought I was a big shot...not a dishwasher !

I could not find any tech info on the given model number. If it is a non USA model I probably will not be able to.
If you cannot find the what and the why it overheated and be able to fix it properly, I would scrap it.
I think Beaumark is actually a GE but am not sure. Try to contact them or search to see if this unit is part of a recall. There have been several recalls over the years covering lots of different manufacture's units with overheating/electrical problems. |
