My GE has not been cleaning well for a while. Little pieces of food still remain on the dishes. Sometimes the dishwashing fluid as well.

Any tips on what needs to be replaced.

I am replacing the HUB and Support since I broke it last week and figured while I am at it I can order any other parts that will make it clean better.

Ofcourse if I go over $150 bucks I am oging in for a new one.

Thanks

Here are the parts
GSD500P-35AW

Make sure the chopper wire area is clear of debris.
Clean out the sump. Note/mark the inside cover, put it on wrong and the chopper will eat it.
There is a little flapper valve (Page 2 Valve, check) in the washer arm support make sure it is in good shape. It allows water to drain back into the sump during drain but is supposed to close during wash. If it does not close you loose pump pressure out the hole.

Some of the wash/drain flapper valves have a black rubber washer in the center of the flapper make sure it is there.

From the parts list I did not see a Piston Nut assembly for this unit so am assuming it does not have one. If your unit has one there will be a screen at the bottom back of the tub.

I don't have any tips, I just anted to post that our dishwasher has been doing the same thing. It's so sad that when you purchase something new, you would expect it to work! We had to call the G.E. repair man out 3 times. He said everything was as clean as a whistle. That sure wasn't true!! I called Best Buy & they wouldn't do anything either, & this was while it was still under the warranty. Everyone completely ignored that it didn't work. I'm sorry that you had to go through the same situation.
