Problem with kitchen aid refrigerator kbfa25erss01.
Not enough cooling in refrigerator but freezer side heavy iced up.
Checked defrost thermostat and element heater both ok.
Replaced control board (Manufacturer Number 12782036SP) and when powered up the unit it showed PE0 000 THEN TRIED TO PROGRAM THE REFRIGERATOR CODE BUT IT WOULD NOT GO INTO THE PROGRAMING MODE. FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO PROGRAM BUT NOTHING HAPPENS PE0 000 JUST STAYS ON AND IT DOES NOT GO INTO THE PROGRAM MODE. COULD IT BE A BAD CONTROL BOARD?
WOULD APPRECIATE ALL THE SUGGESTIONS AND HELP.
THANKS.

You're on the right track, you took care of the most likely problems by replacing the control board.

The trick to the programming mode, you have to be into it in less than 3 seconds, and you need to unplug the power cord between attempts.
(you can't read and push buttons at the same time, essentially).

As long as you're sure you have the wiring properly connected to the connections on the new control board, you should be up and running soon.
