We have a new KitchenAid fridge with Freezer on the bottom... model number kbrs22ktsso1 approx, October 2008. It cools and freezes fine but during a cycling of motor/coolant a noise like a popcorn maker occurs for up to 1 minute. no apparent indication of causes yet. Any experience with this?

The noise that I think you are hearing is the gas being pushed through the sealed system. This is just normal operating noises that happen in alot of new units!!!! :)
