Hi There,
We have a Panasonic Microwave that we purchased 4 years ago but NEVER used it until recently because we were doing renos and had to have it vented.
We finally installed it about a year ago and ONLY used the light on the bottom as it still had not been vented through the attic. About 6 months later the light blew... so I replaced the bulb. Well... that didn't help as it wouldn't turn off so i just removed the bulb.
Then about 5 weeks ago we had it vented and started to use it for heating things up. It was working GREAT!! Three days ago I put a cup of coffee in to re-heat and closed the door. I then pushed 1,3,0 seconds and went to push start and it DIED!!! Never even started.
I phoned around and they said to replace the 18 amp fuse. Once I located one (which was difficult) I popped it in and everything seemed to work just find again over the next day...
We used it about 3 or four times for only a couple of minutes each time and then it died again (no power at all even the display)! After about 5 minutes... the power came on again. So we tried heating something again... then it worked for just over a minute and near the end of heating 1 1/2 mins it just died. The power returned a short time later and we haven't used it. I noticed after about an hour, even while not using it... once again there was no power!
Not sure if it is related but a couple of weeks ago the door was accidentally slammed quite hard?
I have been told many things like inverter, the door switch, or a problem with a high voltage section?
What is most concerning is we paid such a high price for this microwave and because we never installed it right away... It is not covered by warranty. Sadly we only used it for 5 weeks and "IF" we have to take it down off the wall about the stove we have to break all the time to get it out. :o)
Please help with any suggestions. I want to have someone come it to look at it but don't want to get the run around.
PLEASE HELP...Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!
Guy

One of the first things that comes to mind is the electrical supply. You state you were doing renovations so I assme the electrical box for this oven is new. Because of the symptoms you described I would check that box for proper voltage, proper power (amperage), and a proper ground. Fuses blow because they are doing their job, so I would begin by looking at the source.
