My washer isnt cleaning top shelf dishes well at all ,also washer sounds a lot noisier than normal ( emiting a noticeable whining noise ).When i open door mid cycle the top arm is stationary and the bottom is hardly moving. The arm water holes look free of debris .There is plenty of water in the washer and its hot.Suspect pump or motor , any ideas please can this be fixed ?
thanks

The first thing I would check is the chopper in the pump. You can find the complete instructions in one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...hirlpool-dishwasher.html

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid dishwasher Model KUDM01TJWH1

Many thanks for the reply .I had a look at the guidance notes and inspected the chopper last night .It was fine ,there were no solid items in there .The screen was undamaged and the blade could be rotated by light hand pressure .
I found I could turn the impellor by hand if a little stiff, you certainly couldnt spin it. Not sure how loose a new one would feel and whether or not the thing should spin really freely .
All the spray arms and tubing are free of blockages also .
Reassembled and still have the same noise ,louder than normal , ie constant whining . When I rapidly open the door incycle theres water splashing about but the top arm is stationary and the bottom barely moving still.
Motor itself do you think ?
thanks again

I would think so. Looks like the motor has gone bad. You can find the installation instructions in the tech sheets.
