Ordered the rotary switch part we4x782 or ap2042824 for dryer I am told it is the right part but on the front is a small clip to hold it in place the old one had a clip on the top and bottom to hold it in place. How do we get this one to stay in place? Jan

I did check two other parts sites and that is the right part for the rotary start switch. It looks like GE has changed the design, and there should have been an instruction sheet about how to install it included. Since there was not, I think you need to call APP (we who respond on this Forum are volunteers and not associated with the parts operations) and get them to get you a set of instructions. If you click at the APP picture for this part which is a different rotary switch Part number: AP2042821
You will see it comes with a set of instructions comparing old style to new style. See if APP thinks those apply to your part, and if so, get them to email or fax or send that sheet to you.
