We have an all gas range - pilotless. The oven igniter (glow type) does not come on. I need to know how to test the igniter and other parts for defectiveness so I can fix it. I'm on unimployment, so I can't hire anyone
to fix it for me. Thanx for any help...

My oven was doing the same thing - I replaced the igniter unit and it fixed the problem. I did not have a tester so I can not tell you how to test. I know it needs to draw a certain amount of juice, sounds like yours is shot though or it would at least glow.

If you have a meter, unplug the stove, and ohm out the gas valve. If you get continuity, then replace the ignitor.
