The hinges on my wall oven have been replaced twice by an authorized serviceman. I was told that this is a common complaint w/thermador wall ovens. I would like to replace them myself. I removed the door and exposed the hinges but could not figure out how to release the old hinges without losing a finger. Is there a site you can direct me to or manufacturers instructions.

As you can see on the diagram, the door hinges are inside the door. The door has to be taken apart to access the hinges.

Here are the break down diagrams for the Thermador oven Model C272U

Hello,
As you found out, the hinges need to be unlocked in order to remove them from the outer door skin. What I carried was a piece of thin pipe about 10" long that was wide enough to slide over the longer hinge arm. Once the pipe is in place you can push the larger hinge arm towards the smaller hinge arm and then unhook the two. Once the new hinge is in place you can then use the pipe to open the hinge back up to reattach the to hinge arms.

FYI - I would recommend using the 414511 hinges if you have not already purchased them. These were redesigned to be a little stronger. Also, you should inspect the hinge receiver to make sure the little bar that goes from left to right does not have a groove worn into it. If it does, the receiver, or counter support, part number is 414510.

Servicer - I have a Thermador Model 272TS with the same problem - to make sure, are the hinges 414511 compatible? That part number is listed with 302 models, not the 272 models.

Thanks -
