I have an old Whirlpool washing machine that won't drain unless you use the permanent press cycle. It works fine if you use permanent press, but won't drain otherwise. Any ideas on what is wrong?

Go to the timer and test on a heavy wash cycle, when in spin, from blue wire to black/white wire and see if you have voltage. If not then you need to change out the timer. Here is the part number. Part number: AP3018613
