Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 2/17/2011(UTC) Posts: 1		My GE Artica side by side refrigerator has developed a problem where the water dispenser will fail intermittently and the ice dispenser has failed completely. The unit still makes ice. The flapper will still open. Occasionally when the water dispenser will not work and you open the refrigerator door you will see HRS flashing in the display window. I have seen where there was a GE recall mentioned but have not been able to find a copy of the recall letter to verify. I have been happy with my GE appliances so far and would like to get the problem corrected before it becomes a more serious problem.

Other people with this problem repaired theirs with this part. Here is the part number along with a link to the parts diagram. Hope this helps. I installed a new control board and the problem remained. The ice dispenser did engage just once but only once. I haven't figured out the solution but the next step is to replace the dispenser unit. I'll follow up with the solution when ever I find it.
