Ice maker has stopped working. Water dispenser works fine and there doesn't appear to be any ice buidup in the fill tube, but no water enters the tray. The LED's appear to function properly. Kitchen Aid customer service and owners forum are of no help except that it appears that many owners have the same problem. Of course, Kitchen Aid does not acknowledge any problem with the units. Any thoughts on what may be the problem. thank you.

Hi Jim,

Make sure the ice maker "on-off" switch on the right side is in "on" position. Open the freezer door, press in the emitter flapper door (on the left side) to unblock the optics beam and view the diagnostics "status" LED on the right side.

If it flashes then the optic boards have to be replaced.

If it stays "on" then perform the troubleshooting according to the instructions from one of our previous posts: http://forum.appliancepartspros...-maker-quit-working.html

Here are the break down diagrams for the Kitchen Aid refrigerator Model KSCS25INSS00

Gene.
