My washer is leaking from the bottom of the drum and occasinally smells of burnt rubber.

This is a picture of the mounting stem, and seal kit. If you take the front off the washer, and run a test cycle, and the water leaks out from the washer, right from the center of the tub. Then this will be the problem. Tom ApplianceEducator.com
