Hi, I hope someone can help me. My Thermaor range oven turns off and on. I had a friend it looked over and thermostat and relay are working fine. He thinks may be the valve. Since the parts are so expensive I want to make sure that's the next thing I should look into. The lights goes on for the oven, top burners are working, ingnitor stays on. I smell gas though. Thanks!

Thanks for getting back to me. Oven takes a long time for the gas to engage. The ignitor glows, then after an extended period of time the gas finally goes on. The burner works for a bit and goes off then starts cycling on and off. At this time the ignitor is still glowing and we have tested there is 120 volts at the dual valve. Does the ignitor sense the flame or would it be the dual valve?

The igniter can be bad even if does glow if it does not draw enough current (more than 3.2 amps) to open the gas valve within 60 seconds. - The oven Bake igniter Part number: AP2832933

Thermador MBY microwave turns itself off after 2-3 seconds periodically. I read that the push-on connector of upper door latch may be going bad. Can anyone tell me the thermador part number for a new push on? Additionally, can you recommend a tech in Austin, Texas who can perform the repair? Thanks, Fred.

Hi Gene, Thanks for the reply. I am trying to locate a meter right now. If it reads more than 3.2 amp should I replace the valve next?

Fred, This is very sophisticated oven and you have to find a guy who really knows it. Try to use Service Magic web site. Gene.
