The ice maker makes ice but when I lift the ice maker arm to turn it off the water valve continues to run about every 5 minutes like it does when it fills but no water is being dispensed. Does this sound like a water valve problem or a problem with the arm?

How did you know it runs if no water came to the ice maker?

Water valve does not run every 5 minutes. It should run about once in an hour.
