Here is the parts breakdown Replacement parts for General Electric DS4500EB0WW Electric dryer | AppliancePartsPros.comThe unit has a belt break switch (Item 803 in Section 1) perhaps this is not closing for some reason or it is shot. Here is a wiring diagram for a typical GE unit. It probably does not match your unit exactly but will give you an idea of how the above switch is wired in. http://www.applianceaid.com/newimages/ge-newelec-diagram.JPGWhen the motor gets close to operating speed the centrifugal switch (M5/M6) closes. This removes the start motor's winding from the circuit as the motor will overheat if it is left in circuit. It also provides an alternate/parallel circuit path through the belt switch for the start switch so that you can release the start switch and the unit continues to run. |
