Have a whirlpool self cleaning oven. The thermostat (#4451442) has gone out two times after performing self cleaning. It causes the oven not to heat. We can bypass the thermostat and the oven will work. Can we use the oven like that until we can get another new thermostat?

We can bypass the thermostat and the oven will work. Can we use the oven like that until we can get another new thermostat? My wall mount Tappan gas range won't ignite. It has thermostat Model # 722T038P06. How can I by-pass temporarily to confirm if it is working or not... This part is not stocked any longer.. what would be replacement part if I need one? I have flat kind of glow plug (TAPPAN # 316T023P05; ROBERTSHAW 41-202) that works with 3 Volt version Safety Gas Valve (TAPPAN # 774T119P01; ROBERTSHAW Y-30126-AF1). I am working on replacing the igniter (TAPPAN # 316T023P05), and wants to be ready to diagnose the thermostat once I replace the igniter. Thanks for the help....
