Does anyone know how the soap dispenser is supposed to work? I mean, what tells it when to open? Is there a direct voltage applied by the main control board to a solenoid? Or is there a wax motor or bimetal actuator...or what?
Mine often fails to open, and before I just replace it, I thought it might be possible to pull it off and clean out whatever scum or grime might be clogging up the mechanism.
Second question: I've seen the breakdown diagram, but I'm not sure how to get it apart. Does it just pop out of the face of the inside of the door, or does the door have to be disassembled to get at it from the inside?

The dispenser operated by the control module and it's not repairable. If the dispenser is not working properly then it has to be replaced. In order to access the dispenser you have to remove the outer door panel. - The part number for the dispenser assembly is AP2834000 Here are the break down diagrams for the Bosch dishwasher Model SHX56B02 UC/14 (FD 8211-)Gene.
