I have a Whirlpool Refrigerator Model ED5VHGXMB00. I need to know how to remove the control panel. In a move this weekend, we had to remove the doors to get it in the house. Somehow the lightswitch (Part Number AP2967092) got pushed into the control panel. I need to remove the control panel to get to the switch. I may need a new switch, I don't know. I have already removed some of the control panel screws. Does the control panel need to be squeezed in order to remove it? Thanks.

Thank you v2k04
Sorry for the delay in response. Didn't get to it until yesterday. At first we had trouble removing the "snap out" panel. I finally figured the laws of physics should take over and stuck two fingers into the holes where the control knobs were and tugged ever so gently (afraid I'd crack the plastic) and voila! The panel came right off. Removed the last two screws, found the light switch (the small square plastic part attached to it had a hairline crack). I figured that it got some type of "blunt force trauma" during the move. I think it will hold as the only thing turning it off and on at this point is the door. IT ALL WORKS FINE YOU ARE WONDERFUL! :)

Yea all whirlpool plastic is like that it sounds like it's just gonna rip and break and come to pieces in your hands getting it off but it never does lol
