during wash cycle it agitates very slow, when it reaches spin cycle, agitator stops, but water is expelled from hose..timer was replaced 4yrs ago to correct a no spin no water eject problem and has worked flawlessly until now...

Well if this here washer pumps out then the lid switch is ok, I would be willing to bet you have a bad belt. It is easy to replace IF you remove the motor and pump assembly from the washer and replace the belt then re- install that assembly. The pump needs stardrive screwdriver by the way and I THINK you remove 4 bolts to get that motor and pump assembly out after removing the front panel. The motor has a quick plug so no wiring to worry about. Make a note of how that belt goes between the pump. If ye ferget then ye will cuss.:D
