I have a whirlpool washer that I had moved and had to place it on its side. When I got home there was some oil that had leaked on the cardboard. Itook the cover off and there was oil in the back panel. Not alot but enough to make a small pool the size of a large cookie.
Is it ok to run the washer with this amount of oil loss or do I need to replace the oil and if so what kind of oil would be used?
Thanks
CGC

If you wish to add oil, you will need to pull tranny, with a wood chisel, punch a slot in the top cover, and force some 80 weight gear oil in, then seal hole. There are no upper bushings in this direct drive tranny, so a little oil spilled out will probably not have any effect.
